RULES FOR ORGANIZERS OF MASS EVENTS IN THE VICINITY OF HARRACHOV AND IN THE KRKONOŠE NATIONAL PARK

Harrachov is the centre of the western Krkonoše Mountains and as such it attracts many organizers of various mass events, mostly races, for instance running, paragliding or ski mountaineering. As the surroundings of Harrachov are largely located in the Krkonoše National Park, all races require a permit from the KRNAP Administration. To simplify the approval procedure, we prepared the following instructions.

1. Decide whether it is necessary for your race route to pass only through the national park. Harrachov can also be a starting point for events outside KRNAP (for certain types of sports these terrains are even more suitable). We recommend, for example, to try to plan a route west of Harrachov towards the Jizera Mountains.

2. If you decide to run the race in the KRNAP area, in order to plan the routes you should open the publicly available GIS portal of the KRNAP Administration first. You will find the tab „mass events“ in the section „Tourism“: https://ags.krnap.cz/mapy/prohlizecka/ It can also be accessed from www.krnap.cz. Here you can see where the route can be conducted and where it is not possible. Read the conditions for mass events here: www.krnap.cz/sprava/planuji/akci/ and, if necessary, download a sample application here: www.krnap.cz/sprava/sprava-krnap/formulare/

3. Notify the Harrachov town hall of your intention. Contact: Radek Čermák, email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., representative and head of the sports committee. After incorporating any comments and agreeing on the organisation with the Harrachov town hall, submit an official application to the KRNAP Administration.

4. After obtaining permission to organize the event from the KRNAP Administration and the town of Harrachov, the organizers can start informing the public about their intention.

THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE APPLICATION:

  1. date of the event,

  2. very detailed description of the event (route, facilities, checkpoints, general timetable, where the spectators will stand),

  3. how the event will be organised (number and type of vehicles), how the route will be marked in the field,

  4. the maximum number of participants required for the event

  5. for large events, information on how toilets will be provided
